Playing with Chris Yeaton at Cabin Concerts - February 14, 2010

What a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon (Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year!) It is a rare opportunity to have a Hawaiian slack key performance within 40 minutes of my house. It was very cool to see a local "house concert" thanks to hosts Tim and Lori. If you're near Wayne, NJ, check out www.cabinconcerts.com.
It was a sold out crowd and as advertised "very intimate." Chris Yeaton is a fine guitar player and performer so it was a pleasure to watch him share his music and talk story. I sincerely thank Chris for generously sharing his time and stage with me. What a unique opportunity to jump ahead 9 years from when we last jammed in Puna on the Big Island... and play a few songs together in front of a NJ audience. Since first meeting Chris, he has released two CDs and toured with Keola Beamer! With no practice, the music flowed naturally. Also making the day extra special was seeing Erica Neubauer and her family. I carry her husband Bill's memory very close to my heart. It was a very nice reunion. Hopefully, it won't be another 9 years before seeing them again!
