Aloha Andy,

We want to thank you for your wonderful singing at Katie and James' Wedding. When our daughter walked down the aisle to your beautiful rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", everyone was so touched. So many guests let us know how lovely your playing and singing were. Hopefully we will all be able to attend one of your upcoming performances to hear you once again.

On our recent trip to NYC, my daughter and I played music with Andy and came away quite impressed. The guy can sing and play beautiful Hawaiian music with a touch of slack key! And he's NOT from Hawai'i. Amazing.

Andy is AMAZING. He is cheerful, extremely professional, pleasant to work with and truly embodies the spirit of Aloha through his actions and beautiful music. We had a wonderful event because of Andy.

ANDY AND CLAUDIA, you were superb! Thank you so much!

Aloha, Andy (& Claudia). No Hawaii folks pa`ina is complete without “good kine” Hawaiian music.  Your playing at the SLS-SLAA Welcome Pa`ina for the Mariota `Ohana, East Coast alums and other fans of “Crusader Nation” was simply chicken skin.  You folks were great, and mahalo plenty for being there for the Red & Blue.

We felt like we actually were back "home in the islands". Especially after the rain under the gazebo. It was like an intimate gathering of friends with a common interest and two entertaining performers sharing their aloha.

All I can say is WOW... That show last night was fantastic. For those of us that are deprived from just about anything Hawaiian on the east coast of the mainland were treated to something beyond words. Mahalo to everyone that was involved in the show last night. The only glitch was the rain but that was quickly taken care of by some quick thinking and some people that will do anything to stay Hawaiian just a bit longer.

Aloha Andy! You were so amazing the other night at the SubCulture Theater in NYC! As a native local from the Hawaiian islands, I do admit that you are the REAL thing! Your guitar playing and singing voice is so heavenly... I look forward to more! Malama pono.

Thank you so much for making our wedding so very special!! It was so lovely of you to play so many special requests.

We received so many amazing compliments from our guests about your beautiful, romantic music -- people said your music made them feel like they were on vacation, and some of the older folk commented that they were so happy that they were able to enjoy the music and still able to hear each other talk 🙂

Thank you so much for your well wishes and kindness.

Andy came to our Luau and he was fantastic. When our guests were busy in conversation, Andy kinda hung back and played quietly and when they were quiet, he came to the fore and introduced the songs he was playing and "talked a little story."

He has a very nice Hawaiian repertoire and also plays ukulele. Nice voice too. He was the hit of the Luau. Also he was very flexible when we asked him to change his performance times.

Andy was delightful to deal with all the way from the beginning to the performance on our wedding day. It was very easy to let him do his thing and the guests loved listening. He was everything we hoped for. We only had a few song requests that we wanted to hear and he accommodated our every request. I only wish we were able to hear him perform during the whole reception, but being the bride and groom, we were in and out with photographers and family. Everyone in attendance talked about how beautiful it was to hear him play and sing and how it fit in with our style. I can't thank Andy enough for such a memorable performance.

Andy provided the quality we always seek when putting on an event that represents Hawaii

I had the pleasure of working with Andy while implementing programs for several of Hawaii's chefs at The James Beard House in New York. He was extremely easy to work with, and we found him to be very dependable. As well, Andy provided the quality we always seek when putting on an event that represents Hawaii. It was a pleasure to work with him, and we look forward to "the next time!"

You raised the bar so far above our expectations

I don’t even know where to begin… It was such a pleasure and an honor to have had you play at our wedding. It was so important to me that my ceremony and reception spoke to my ties to the Big Island and your music and aloha spirit made the day so perfect.

My guests are STILL commenting on you and I am so pleased that we were able to introduce so many to true Hawaiian music that day! You raised the bar so far above our expectations (and we already knew you would be great) that I could not have asked for anything or anyone better!

I am so very grateful for all that you did for us that day and am still smiling. Mahalo nui for coming into our life and know that you truly have two new friends in Steve and I. Looking forward to seeing you again!

Hapa Experience NYC

The Hapa experience at the Danny Kaye Playhouse Saturday evening was kicked off by the master of ceremonies & Surfer, Peter Fonda, whom authenticated the Hawaiian event with his own unique Waikiki experience that was moving.

The dynamic duo of Irishman Barry Flanagan & Hawaiian Nathan Aweau did not disappoint performing in flawless fashion running up & down the fret board with great ease yet in a manner that could certainly put you to sleep as is the case with a gentle sea breeze or the cascading sounds of an ocean in motion.

Local talent Andy Wang, a former student of Barry Flanagan & Kihoalu artist, showcased his skills speaking & playing effortlessly with Hapa & for me, I could feel Andy’s excitement since it’s a high honor & especially for all of the work that he & his wife have done for the local Hawaiian community & the mother land in Hawaii promoting Polynesian culture with great pride & enthusiasm that is flat out priceless! I predict that Andy’s musical career will take off ten fold with the experience. Hana hou Andy!

You and Chris have received such accolades. Thank you so much for all your efforts!

Never would I have thought that I would encounter traditional Hawaiian music on the EAST COAST. I was thrilled and VERY impressed when I met Andy. Andy's music is from the heart, true to Hawai'i, and he proudly represents the art and perpetuation of Ki ho'alu (Hawaiian Slack Key). I highly recommend Andy Wang Music for any Hawai'i Cultural Event, he is great to work with - he's organized, professional and will be the difference to making an event 'exceptional'.

Honolulu Advertiser review of "Five Years and Many Miles"

Andrew Wang, one of [Darin Leong's] guitar guests, co-wrote "Aloha Papalua," which clearly has Island resonance.

Distinguishing notes: Darin Leong has had a long association with guitar and 'ukulele; here, he has exceptional support from award-winning bassist Nathan Aweau, who's also a member of Hapa.

You were really excellent

Thank you very much for Saturday night. I thought you were really excellent. Regarding your survey, mark my answers as excellent across the board and yes, you may use me as a reference.

A big mahalo for your kokua

We would like to thank you both for an incredible day of music and aloha you provided for HCF's holiday party, 2006. We truly enjoyed the selection of music, your charm and warm spirit that filled the room. (And, especially some of the island's oldies but goodies. YEAH.) Your spirit and sounds will carry us all through the chilly days of New York's holidays. A big mahalo for your kokua and for your enormous support!!!

Much love and aloha,

Thank you for performing at our events in New York and New Jersey. It was a pleasure working with you. I hope we can do it again.
