Hawaiian music hula New York

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Come beat the winter chill with an evening of traditional Hawaiian music and dance. You will hear ʻukulele, slack key guitar, steel guitar and more, from some of the finest practitioners of authentic Hawaiian music around, including Jason Poole (The Accidental Hawaiian Crooner,) Claudia Goddard, Andy Wang, Chris Davis, Triboro, and Ping Chun. In addition, you will enjoy beautiful hula dancing by the New York branch of Kumu Hula (Master Teacher) Vicky Holt Takamine’s Pua Aliʻi ʻIlima.

I’ll be kicking off the show with Claudia, Chris and the dancers of Pua Aliʻi ʻIlima. I hope you can join us for kīhōʻalu (slack key guitar) duets, hula and talk story.  Plus more from our fellow performers.
